Removing saved email addresses from Outlook
Auto-Complete in Outlook: When you send emails using Outlook, the application automatically adds the recipient's email address to an Auto-Complete List. This feature is designed to enhance your emailing experience by providing suggestions for email addresses as you type, making it quicker and easier to address your emails.
Why Delete Auto-Complete Entries?: Over time, some of these suggested email addresses may become outdated or incorrect, leading to potential confusion or errors when sending emails. For instance, if a contact changes their email address, the old address might still appear in the suggestions, causing you to accidentally send emails to the wrong address.
How to Delete Auto-Complete Entries: To maintain an accurate and useful Auto-Complete List, you can delete obsolete or incorrect email addresses. Here’s how you can do it:
Individually Remove Entries:
- Start typing the email address in the "To" field.
- When the unwanted email address appears in the suggestion list, hover over it with your mouse.
- Press the X icon that appears

Example: The way the marketing email works was changed, and this has caused some people to have both the new and the old version of the address. Click on the X for the marketingshared@stmartins.sa.edu.au
By managing your Auto-Complete List, you can ensure that your email suggestions remain relevant and accurate, reducing the chances of sending emails to incorrect addresses.
