How to install the SMLC Certificate on a Mac (BYOD)
To use our internet and to provide the best experience when connecting to school resources, you will need to install our certificate. This verifies the authenticity of the servers we use locally on our network. If you do not have the certificates correctly installed on your device, you may see errors such as 'Connection is not private' when visiting websites.
Follow the steps below to install the certificate on a Mac running macOS Ventura 13.2.1.
- Open of Safari and click here to download the SMLC certificate
- If you get a popup that says 'Do you want to allow downloads on intranet.stmartins.sa.edu.au' click 'Allow'

- Click on the Downloads button on the top right and double click on 'network-cert.crt'

- Keychain and and Add Certificate popup should appear. In the dropdown menu on Add Certificate select 'login' and click Add

- In Keychain, on the left menu bar click 'login' and then click 'Certificates'

- You should see 'smlcCA' in the list with a red icon on to. Double click on 'smlcCA'
- On the 'smlcCA' window that appears, expand 'Trust' and select 'Always trusted' in the dropdown box for 'When using this certificate'

- Click on the Red close window button in the top right of the window and enter your password (or use your fingerprint)
- In Keychain, 'smlcCA' should now have a blue icon next to it.

- Restart your browser (you may also need to restart your laptop)
